Even the best trained dog needs a good handler to perform. A good handler can give a spectator the fealing that a non-trained dog is a well trained dog whereas the same spectator may class a well trained dog an un-trained dog whilst in the hands of a bad handler.
All of our training programs for dog trainers require the student to learn the art of dog handling.
This course covers theory and pratical work for proper handling techniques. Students learn how to get a dog to perform in the correct manner. Training also covers passing a dog through FGO trials.
This course has been deviced for the professional handler. The course covers theory and prastical work for all fields in dog handling. Qualified handlers are capable of putting dogs into various trials with the knowledge on how to perform and get the best out of the dog in different scenarios and certification phases.
This is the first part of a two step Dog Behaviorist course, only students that successfully complete the second part of the course can be certified as a Dog Behaviorist. We believe that a true dog trainer must have deep knowledge in the canine thus must study the dog as how they see the world, think and act. Many training centers certify people as a behaviorist without learning how to work with dogs others offer Behavior courses as the highest level of education that is after they complete dog training courses. This is an open argument, here at K9 Raben we believe that to train a dog one deeply benefits from knowing how the dog thinks, why when and how he reacts. However we do not believe that someone who does not know how to train dogs is capable of correcting behavior problems. This is why we have devided the course into two parts. To become a dog trainer one must first complete the Dog Behavior Science I training program and to become a dog behaviorist one must complete required dog training courses and also the second stage of dog Behaviour.
The first part covers the history and evolution of dogs, the thinking mind of the dog, dog behavior problems and there roots, training techniques used globally there pros and cons.
This course has been prepared for people who want to become a dog trainer. Through theory and practical work students are taught how to communicate and teach a dog to perform. K9 Raben Training Center DOES NOT believe in single method training. That is students are not taught of one training method and a single technique per command. We believe that a dog trainer must have open horizons and must be taught different methods used and various techniques for each method, thus allowing the dog trainer to be able to use more tools and techniques in training, and hold the chance to improve their methods.
Students are taught all obedience commands, students also learn what level of command is to be taught for each training program and the varying requirements of different certification programs. Graduates are capable of training any breed for any level and title of obedience work in eas. Our graduates fully train dogs for the FGO program and put them in trials after ONLY 12 days of training the dog in question. (FGO: No, Sit, Down, Here, Heal, Die-Up, Up, Down, Jump, Turn, In, Out, Handshake,sit for food and eat on command!) Obedience Dog Trainers learn how to train dogs on and of leash.
Obedience Dog Trainers have the option to train for the Agility Dog Trainer. Students are taught how to teach a dog to perform a complete agility park. Students also learn varying rules for Agility performed by different clubs and associations. Agility Dog Trainers learn various techniques in teaching a dog required commands and how to get the best performance out of each obstacle performance.
Obedience Dog Trainers are given the option for Protection work training. Students learn the different drives used in protection work training the origin of each drive and how to shape. Students learn how to prepare dogs for soprt bite work and true protection work. Graduates are capable of training and getting the best out of a dog for Schutzhund aswell as training a dog for K9 protection work. Students learn how to use different drives for soprt and work, students learn how to train a protection work in such a way that the dogs performing love it, that is they learn the true methods, our students with their extreme knowledge do not end up frustrated and end up beating up the dog to train for protection!
This course is only available for students who have graduated from Handling, Obedience, Agility, and Protection work Dog Training. Only the best students an students who are truly successfull are allowed to participate. The course covers dog bahavior science in depth. The course covers first aid, breeding, feeding, up-bringing. Only a dog Behaviorist who has deep knowledge of the canine world and knows how to professionally handle and train a dog may succeed in truly helping a dog, handler or trainer. The K9 Raben system guarantees that the behaviorist does not have to guess or continually try knew methods thus requiring considerable time, and unsatisfied dogs-owners.

This is a short course deviced for Dog Obedience Trainers to be capable of teaching dogs proper tracking techniques. Training covers tracking techniques and stages also covering IPO, K9 etc. tracking requirements.
This is another short course for Dog Trainers who wish to learn the science of smell discrimination and putting it into action for work or sport use.
Students who wish to train dogs for the Schutzhund title alone have the option to enter this program. Training covers all sections in detail for Schutzhund trials, thus showing the dog, obedience, tracking, and protection for sport. Graduates will easilly train dogs in a quick manner for all three stages of Schutzhund trials. Students also learn various techniques for getting the dogs to perform each section of the trial with the required style.
Students who wish to become a Search and Rescue Dog Trainer have the option of attending this complete course which covers every section of Search and Rescue in depth. We have seen how so-called trained dogs have cost time and in cases lives during the time of crises, we believe that getting a dog through a SAR trial is just not enough. Dogs must be able to perform in varying conditions and scenarios mistake free. We believe a single properly trained dog will do more benefit in the time of crises then fifty wanna-be dogs. Unfortunately not many training academys in the world offer SAR training and centers in it for the money and fame thus not producing proper dogs. K9 Raben offers this course for trainers who learn not only how to train a dog to Search in different climates, surroundings and locations but also how to perform as a Search and Rescue personel themeselves and at the same time be their own dogs first aid provider. Training for this title is training in the subject in depth. Students are taught K9 Rabens SAR training protocol, certification and testing protocols. Graduates have a higher chance of getting a dog full certification, the reason for this is that students learn how to properly screen thus select a dog for training and have the knowledge of how to get the dog in question to enjoy and learn to its full potential thus work to its full potential in the field.
Any student wishing to become a todays much searched for Gun Dog Trainer is given the option of this course. Students learn how to get a gun dog to point, flush, retrieve and track wild prey. Graduates with their in depth knowledge of drives and how to shape these drives are capable of getting ANY dog breed to Point!
This is K9 Rabens most diverse dog training system. Training covers all dog training stages except for gun dog training. Graduates are behaviorists and are capable of training any breed dog and are capable of training dogs not only for the UPD title but for various training certificates as well.
K9 Raben believes that dogs should be trained according to what the dog posesses inside that is what they were given at birth by mother nature. Schutzhund trials etc. require certain drives to be used for training and shape for success, only a good handler who knows how to get the dog to work is capable of getting a dog to succeed in the bite work part of certification standards. Graduates learn how to get a dog to perform a task, how to shape to get the potential out of the dog in the required style.
Here at K9 raben we believe that different drives are used in sport and work, thus K9 Raben offers these different'types' of protection work seperately. This course is devised for Decoys to train and shape dogs for professional protection duties including area protection, handler protection, object, and third party protection.
The UPD Decoy is the highest decoy qualification course offered by K9 Raben. Graduates have the knowledge and experience to prepare a dog for any dog protection title available.
