K9 Dog Training Academy is a dog training and breeding center. We provide a variety of training programs from House training to Protection work. Services provided by the facility include handling techniques, dog trainer, decoy, and behaviorist courses, training for various titles including the K9 certificate and the UPD title. Raben K9 Dog Training Center is the ONLY registered dog training and breeding academy in Northern Cyprus and is the ONLY facility that houses Search and Rescue dogs and the ONLY facility providing Protection, Narcotics, Cadaver, and Explosive dog training work. |

We do not breed "Show Dogs" or "Pet Quality" dogs. All of our dogs are bred from Working Dogs who do not carry Hip Dysplasia or any other genetically inherited disease. We breed according to the work of Stephanitz and do not recognize any dog other than those that fit the description of Stephanitz. To understand our breeding program one must first truly understand Stephanitz. Our dogs are not cage or kennel dogs, they are properly socialized well behaved German Shepherd Dogs that fit to the standards, those set out by Stephanitz. What is the difference? How many German Shepherd Dogs do you know that jump a 150cm high fence rather then todays 100cm set standard? How many GSD' have you met that can climb over a 3 meter high vertical wall rather then the set 180cm slanted and carpeted ramp? how many German Shepherd Dogs have you met that perform a 100cm high 300cm long obsatcle jump? Chances are you haven't chances are you thought that such dogs were extinct today.
Raben K9 Dog Training Center lives by Leslie Charvilles rule, "If a job is worth doing then do it right, or don't do it at all".
Unfortunately many people have fallen for 'low quality' German Shepherd Dogs. Dogs that have a low reaching back with a saddle pattern and plenty of inherited diseases. This is due to the fact that many breeders have evolved with the only target of making fast cash not caring for the breed or owners just their pocket. We bread according to Stephanitz.

My story with K9 Raben Training Center started with my adopting Ghost von Raben. She was 9 months old so I was a bit afraid of her getting to bond with me. Ben came and checked out our hose and got to know us only then did he agree to sell us Ghost. After signing a contract that protected Ghost and me we received special training with Ghost and on completion we took her home. Night one was full of worries, Ghost wasn't that happy dog we saw at the kennel but after a day she totally accepted and obeyed as if she was born in my hands. We were warned by Ben so we were completely ready for outbursts by people who 'know all' telling me that my dog wasn't 'original'... Now at 12 months of age everyone I know has changed their mind, Ghost unlike the German Shepherd Dogs I see around is a hard working fizikally and mentally strong dog who is everything every book says about the breed, she is protect full yet forgiving, loves children, has an excellent nose, always on the go, devote full and loving yet totally fierce against danger, she knows 21 commands and requires no leash. She doesn't wine or make that thin bark like other dogs I see, she has a deep chest bark that makes one look twice to see if it really was her. I have received unlimited help from Ben and his crew and I have learnt how to feed, love, protect and understand my daughter. If you too are in search for a German Shepherd Dog that will fulfill your dreams then Raben Working Line German Shepherd Dogs are the answer, in workshops I have seen plenty of dogs and none come close to them. If you are looking to train your dog then K9 Raben is the only real location, even though they monopolize in training the prices are really cheap and the training is fun yet realistic with no torture just love...

Why do certain 'vets' & 'pet shops' have a problem with K9 Raben?
K9 RABEN HAVE THE GUTS TO SPEAK OPEN, TO SPEAK THE TRUTH, TO PROVIDE THE BEST, AND WE DO NOT REQUIRE TO HIDE BEHIND LIES...!

K9 Raben Training Center is an Academy, as all education centers hold a responsibility to educate. Fulfilling this can sometimes be hard when there is a fine line between profit and goals. Rather than suffering the hard work of protecting this line we long ago decided not to care about the fine line and have trampled all over it. This has caused certain vets and pet shops to take precautions. If a pet shop sells a dog to a person and we are shown the dog in question we WILL comment openly and freely on what we see. This can sometimes be bad for the pet shop, A Boston Terrier sold as a French Bulldog will be categorized as a Boston Terrier and not as a French Bulldog by us. If it is missing a testis we WILL point this out. If the dog comes with fake pedigree paperwork we WILL explain this in detail to the owner....
When the owner asks for advice on the dog scratching and we do a scraping and the laboratory confirms mange we WILL explain this to the owner and explain that the corticosteroid treatment that the dog is receiving is wrong, we WILL also openly explain the side affects.. When a puppy comes in and we learn that the perfectly healthy puppy is being fed Royal Canin or Eukanuba or similar balanced and complete food but also receives daily calcium supplements, we WILL explain to the owner of the consequences. When a dog comes in with a crying owner explaining that the vet has told them that their dog has Hip Dysplasia and is only 3 months old and requires an immediate operation and all this information was given without a single x-ray taken we WILL get cross. We WILL give the owners the right direction. We WILL feel utter disgust when an x-ray is taken by a second party showing a complete different story.
K9 Raben does NOT and WILL NOT tolerate such practices, even if it means that the vet, pet shop or any other third party lose customers or business, with a consequence of the concerned party to become enemy's with the training center and try to prevent future people from entering the facility.
Our duty is to educate not only the dogs but more so the owners for both of their benefit. We have seen many dogs suffer from incorrect veterinarian treatments. If your vet or pet shop has condemned Raben K9 Training Center in any way whatsoever then maybe you should be asking yourself why! Has your dog been subscribed cheap calcium tablets along with a quality brand for no apparent reason! Was a test performed? Or are you being sold bad dog food? Or are you just another innocent customer making him/her a few extra bucks (small but a couple of hundred percent per bottle and a few hundred customers, well drops fill the bucket)?!? If your vet or pet shop is selling you supplements with quality kibbles and you have a perfectly healthy dog then ask your self "Does your vet or pet shop have more knowledge and experience then every single pet food brands extensive veterinarian team?" If the brand is so bad that it needs supplements then why are they selling these expensive in-complete brands to you? Did they sell the dog in question to you? Then maybe you to have a fake pedigree, or maybe even a fake dog... We provide knowlegde and service to anybody who passes by whether a customer of our or not, if we have been condemnd then maybe you should pass by and get your dog and pedegree checked out, we don't charge for knowledge. AND WE WILL GIVE YOU A WRITTEN ANSWER IF YOU REQUIRE!

Lucky for all of us their are VERY GOOD veterinarians and Pet Shops out there, and they are getting more as each day passes.
