It is said that dogs require vitamin . This is definately true, however excess ammounts of vitamin D means excess ammounts of calcium is going to be absorbed too. Not enough vitamin D and excess ammounts are health risks. However, even though a veterinarian live on a tv show expressed that if a dog does not receive enough sunlight then the dog would be deprived of vitamin D thus the dogs paws will mealt is ancient veterinary science! A myth that has no scientific back up, a myth that has been scientifically prooved wrong. Dogs DO NOT SYNTHESIZE Vitamin D via sunlight as our friend explained dogs require ready sources of vitamin D just like cats do.
