Against the belief of many veterinarians, dogs do not see in black and white or ins gray scale. Dogs definitely see in color.

Dogs are presumed to see in black and white and grey scale. During our tests and research we have proved this to be wrong. Dogs definately do see in colour.
Our tests composed of 21 dogs.
Different coloured feeding bowls were placed on the ground in random order. 3 food bowls for each colour was used. An aleminium lid with a remote opening device was placed on each. First a peice of food was placed in each then a ball was placed in each.
Dogs were trained to sit inront of a specific coloured bowl to receive their treat. Once they were taught each dog was placed with randomly placed bowles of different colours. Remarkably dogs trained for white, black blue etc. sat at the correct bowl each and every time whereas dogs trained for red and green had problems with these two colours.
The dogs were then used with a single colour but with a hue range rather than a colour range in order to estimate their hue range..
Further tests included training dogs to bark at a certain colour. This time the dogs were matched with a new color. The results were the same as before, however this test was better at accessing their hue range.
Dogs tested for following a specific line by colour resulted with the same results when different coloured line intersected with their colored line.
During the tests it was remarkable how dogs could choose between tones, but confuse colours.

Normal human vision

Red-Green colour blind vision.
With the belief that dogs being hunters would have evolved to have a different vision to ours further tests were performed. By teaching dogs to retreive certain objects it was notable that objects in camuflage that were hard to see by the human eye were clearly visible to dogs. Many years ago we proved how dogs could detect small movements that the human eye would miss. Objects that seemed still to the human eye but were in motion according to electronic detectors were clearly moving to the dogs used in the tests. With these two test results in hand we can definately say that the dog will notice prey hidden with a lot more ease then the human, thus to say that the human can see better then the dog and the dog can smell better then the human being is actually wrong. If the subject is hunting or searching dogs do not only have a better nose and ears but also have better eyes for the job. With that said dogs do see better than humans at night thanks to their ability to re-reflect light to their iris, thus dark to a human does not mean dark to a dog.
We do however believe that dogs do not see as clear and net as humans do. We have developed the ability to see detail where dogs have evolved to see better at night, catch smaller movements and to discriminate in camuflage.
If you think of eye sight as a mathematik page where each square is one receptor then our vision would be finely draw tiny squares. A circle drawn by filling in the squares would be very much curved. dogs on the other hand have much larger squares so a circle would look much ragged.
